Planning for Maymont 2012

We are in the busy stage of designing and planning our Maymont Show Garden. While I won’t tell you everything up our sleeve, I will tell you that the theme is “The Streets of Richmond” and that we have some pretty neat plans. Our landscape designers have drafted a rough design of the layout and we think we have a good shot at winning our third “Best in Show” award in a row.
As always we have kept the same theme for our design which is to have something in the garden for all ages and to produce something that can help give a practical vision for your own backyard.
You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be really something that I think I would never understand. It seems too complex and very broad for me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!
I completely understand your feelings! After many years of garden tours, peeking over garden fences, books, and DIY shows I feel like I just scratched the surface. My own personal rule of thumb is to have fun with it all. Please come visit our nursery and see some of our plantings and patios here for inspiration. We have ponds, streams, and of course plants…and you are free to wander, take pictures, or ask for help. If you ever need help with landscaping, just let me know.
