This is the right choice for fast coverage of a bed or erosion issue. Fast spreading from rhizomes, it will eliminate bed weeding and mulching in a couple of growing seasons. Be careful not to add other plants to the bed since the Spicata will dominate. Adapts well to sun and part shade growing about 12″ tall with narrower leaves than the Muscari varieties. Lavender flowers in late summer in a well established bed can be quite impressive. Easy to maintain, cut back with your lawn mower or weed trimmer around March 1st. and all new growth will cover the plants by April.
